Mocha Mermaid is a creative center that celebrates the ocean and its diverse community of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. The center, founded by Miami native Danni Washington, aims to create a community of ocean warrior queens and amplify the voices of ocean-loving BIPOC communities. The center features mermaid mantras, a history of swimming while black, and a collection of Merfolx mythology. The center is ocean-friendly and hosts meet-ups every Water Wednesday. The center also provides resources for ocean-loving BIPOC communities, including mermaid mantras, diving, and surfing. The center is dedicated to promoting diversity and the importance of the ocean in our lives.
