About Gitche Gumee Bible Camp

Gitche Gumee Bible Camp began because of a burden God put on the heart of John J. Rader who originally founded the camp to minister to the youth of Upper Michigan’s “Copper Country.” In the chilling winter of 1930, with only five dollars in his pocket, John Rader began to construct some of the very buildings that still stand today as a testimony to his faith and calling and to the exceeding and abundant blessings of God. The ministry of Gitche Gumee Bible Camp has expanded even beyond John Rader’s dreams to reach generations of young people, adults, and families from all over the world for Christ and to teach an ever-changing world the never-changing truths of the Word of God.
