Terms Index
Largest Contentful Paint
A good LCP is 2.5 seconds or less, as it measures the website’s loading performance by tracking how long it takes for the largest content in the viewport to become visible
Interaction to Next Paint
Measures a webpage’s overall responsiveness to user interactions. Make sure your site has an INP of 200 milliseconds or less.
Cumulative Layout Shift
This tracks unexpected layout shifts during page load to measure a site’s visual stability. Keep the CLS below 0.1, as it can disrupt user experience and SEO rankings.
First Contentful Paint
This metric can impact SEO, user experience, and engagement, so it’s crucial to keep it at 1.8 seconds or faster for an ideal FCP.
Total Blocking Time
Heavy JavaScript can increase TBT, which affects the page’s responsiveness and load performance.
Speed Index
This provides a comprehensive view of the entire visual loading experience “above the fold.” A faster perceived visual load indicates a lower speed index.
Time to Interactive
Measures the time it takes for a page to become fully interactive and checks for heavy JavaScript execution.
